The
5.9L Cummins Diesel is undoubtedly one of the best-built diesel engines
on the market today. To enhance this power plant, Airaid® Filter
Company has released the newest MXP Series intake system. It draws in
cold air and improves filtration which translates into lower EGT’s and
increased air volume.
The
massive 1700 CFM Filter featured in this intake system has the capacity
to hold more dirt than stock filters, which gives you more time between
services. Our intake also sports a One-Piece Roto-Molded Cold Air Box, Turbo
Heat Shield and a massive 6” Modular Induction Tube with a 5” inlet, which
can accommodate larger aftermarket turbos. The end result is a bolt-on,
hassle-free system that’s designed to lower intake air temperatures,
increase air flow and improve overall performance and
drivability. Airaid's MXP Series Intake System is the latest in complete cold air intake technology. The new MXP intake features a large, one piece, rotational molded air box to keep heat away from the air inlet tract of the engine. The new custom molded high performance air box utilizes multiple sources around the vehicle for cold air. A unique advantage of the rotational molded one piece design is that engineers are able to design the air box to fit the contours of the body and components under the hood giving the air filter maximum volume for cold air and a perfect fit the first time.
The MXP series also features a redesigned air intake tube made from cross-linked, high density polyethylene which maintains the OE air sensor readings for proper functionality and correct air-fuel ratio with the factory computer system. To top it all off, the MXP series includes an Airaid Premium Filter with Synthaflow technology that features a computer -designed pleat depth and count to ensure maximum air flow AND filtration.
